An ex-services club in northern Sydney has received approval to build an aged care and senior living complex and community facilities with almost 2,000 square metes for open space and memorial gardens.
The 52-year-old Club Willoughby will undertake the development with Hyecorp Property Group after almost 10 years of planning to create a site to benefit long-time patrons and the local community.
The residential part of the development will include an aged care facility, 126 luxury apartments with 102 units designated for over 55-year-olds and a 406-space underground car park.
The seniors living complex will include a concierge, on site management offering daily activities, dining facilities, an indoor swimming pool, gym and pilates studio and consulting rooms for a doctor and physiotherapist.
The revamped club will be set over three levels with multiple restaurants, café, lounge and bar facilities. The site will also include community meeting areas, retail spaces and a 500 square metre function room available for hire.
Hyecorp Property Group managing director Stephen Abolakian said the design aimed to provide high-quality living options for people to progress through various life stages and stay n a much-loved neighbourhood.
Club president Matt Vertzonis said the new club and memorial park would continue the legacy of the ex-service members who founded the club in the late 1940’s to be an integral part of the local community.
The project is expected to commence by early 2022 and take around three years to complete.
